About the exhibition

An exhibition from the eyes of dancers struggling with feeling good in their own skin. It is to share and raise awareness to the dancers in the dance community about how the body standards affects their mental health negatively. Hence, this exhibition is all about vulnerability and seeing body standards in the dancers' perspective through their personal stories and emotions.

Programme Booklet

Dancers’ body – long and lean. Upholding this “skinny” reputation means we must go on diets, constantly pushing on just to maintain or lose our body weight to a number that defines us. Being influenced by the people around us makes us question the right food to eat.

“Am I supposed to feel guilty for eating the food I love?” “Am I the only one who thinks this way?”

“Is it worth losing myself in this process?”

"Can you see us? … Can you hear us?"

“This exhibition made me feel less alone as I struggled with body image disorder for some time. Thank you for your hard work in presenting this to us."
